Avon Turbine Engine

Housing the latest diagnostic equipment, the Rolls Wood Group workshop is capable of handling in excess of 130 engines per year.

Our facilities are complemented by a Category 1 Test Bed. Backed by innovative streamline repair capability, highly experienced motivated engineers trained to national accredited standards, the world's largest inventory of Avon spare parts, as well as the availability of an Avon dedicated support fleet, Rolls Wood Group delivers the most formidable and flexible Avon repair and overhaul solutions on a worldwide basis.

Rolls Wood Group provides users of the Rolls-Royce Industrial Avon Gas Generator with a repair and overhaul service which is second to none. The Avon workshop is dedicated to this single engine type and has a capacity of over 130 engines per annum, which means that Rolls Wood Group has processed over 1500 engines since inception - more than the total number of engines sold by Rolls-Royce. Specialist engineers trained to nationally accredited standards staff our purpose built Avon overhaul and repair facility.

The Technical Assistance Agreement with Rolls-Royce plc ensures that the repair and overhaul service is optimised to the benefit of the operator.

Experience

Having overhauled engines from Alaska to Australia, Rolls Wood Group has gained the necessary experience to overcome any type of application, duty or environmental problems. Rolls Wood Group also holds a key and unique role, responsible for building new production Industrial Avon gas generators in our dedicated premises in Dyce, Aberdeen on behalf of Rolls-Royce. This function is supported by a build and materials handling team who oversee the programme.

Turntime

Rolls Wood Group has recognised the need to reduce the time taken to provide both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements. To this end, we offer a 40 day turntime for major overhaul requirement. This is particularly beneficial to operators faced with the associated expense of Leasing equipment as interim support.

Avon engines repair and overhaul

Today, the option exists to upgrade and retrofit the Avon through exploiting frontline technologies. Swirler burner technology helps reduce combustion instability and can be introduced on both single or dual fuel applications. The new design Avon 200 is now available and sets new standards of power, efficiency, life-cycle costs and environmental impact. In conjunction with swirler burner, Avon 200 is available in modification kit form. The main component changes consist of the three stages of turbine disc, blades and vanes, casings and seal segments.
