The Olympus Engine

The Rolls-Royce range of Olympus Industrial gas generator engines was derived from the aero engine which powered the Avro Vulcan. Later developments were used in the Concorde SST and TSR2 aircraft.

Olympus Turbine engine components

The Olympus engines produce between 17½ and 27 megawatts of power and are used in power generation applications around the world. There are currently 11 offshore installations and 122 onshore.

Applications vary from open cycle gas turbine configurations to efficient combined cycle operations using waste heat recovery for district heating and can run on either distillate fuel, natural gas or both.
