RB211 INSPECTOR
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group Avon Department for an Inspector. The successful candidate will be based at Dyce, Aberdeen, and will report directly to the Cell Leader. The primary function is to assist in the smooth, efficient and safe operation of their relevant department in accordance with the company procedures.
Job Description:
- To bench inspect / sentence engine components by visual and dimensional methods to the relevant overhaul manuals, update inspection paperwork as inspection is completed and progress components to meet business demands.
- To ensure all inspection records and computer tracking system (Visaer) meets the requirements for each component inspected.
- To carry out receipt, engine build and despatch checks in accordance with the relevant overhaul manual in line with company procedures.
- To ensure module / engine cyclic life details are correct and available for the Cell Leader, to enable log book / release certification compilation, whilst ensuring all paperwork is complete and correct.
- To ensure all engine / module Inspection Cards being used are correct and to the relevant standard.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Time served mechanical engineer / inspector.
- Technical knowledge of Gas turbines.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into operational instructions.
- Attention to detail is a must for this position.
- Ability to use a manner of calibration / measuring equipment.
- Understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Visaer experience / knowledge would be advantageous.

Avon Materials Engineer
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group Avon Department for a Materials Engineer. The successful candidate will be based at Dyce, Aberdeen, and will report directly to the Operations Manager. The primary function is to ensure that all material requirements for the department are covered, taking into account sales forecast, stockholding, engine kitting, and the procurement of material. The position involves liaison with suppliers, internal Customers and production to ensure deadlines are achieved.
Job Description:
- Ensure material requirements for the department are covered, taking into account forecasting, planning and procurement..
- Ensure material kitting dates are achieved and production/kitting deadlines are met.
- Ensure stock and materials are available for site engineers, as required and maintain records of all stock movements.
- Review of Inventory Levels to maximise return and stock turnover.
- Responsible for identifying and raising material stock upgrades and maximising stock opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate and approved vendors are utilised for all stock/orders purchases and sub-contract services. Makes recommendations regarding appropriate vendor for material procurement and sub-contract services.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Avon Gas Generator.
- Time Served qualification.
- Experience in the procurement and negotiation with suppliers.
- Knowledge of Avon repair schemes and modifications preferable.
- Knowledge of Visaer.

Avon Senior Inspector
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group RB211Project for a
General Assistant. The successful candidate will be based at Kirkhill,
Dyce and will report to the Workshop Supervisor.
Job Description:
- Planning, Organisation and Work allocation to progress the inspection of the Engine/Components.
- Supervision of the Inspection Department and conduct the day to day HR issue’s including appraisals and performance reviews.
- Identify training and development opportunities within the department and liaise with the Training department for implementation and progression.
- Preparation and issue of Inspection documents for the relevant Mark of Engine and the prescribed Work scope.
- To amend and update all inspection paperwork, as required.
- Upon completion of the Work scope conduct the review and an audit check of the Inspection records to ensure all contractual and agreed work scope items have been conducted.
- To Compile and issue the Engine release certification and Log book on completion of the engine Repair / Overhaul.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Technical background with Experience in the Inspection Processes and operational requirements of Gas Turbine components
- Awareness of the company QHSE Procedure’s and ensure these are strictly adhered to
- Have an understanding of ERP & Electronic systems for the recording and tracking of data

RB211 GENERAL ASSISTANT
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group RB211Project for a General Assistant. The successful candidate will be based at Kirkhill, Dyce and will report to the Workshop Supervisor.
Job Description:
- To keep the RB211 workshop clean and tidy.
- To keep the RB211 yard clean and tidy.
- Loading and unloading of delivery trucks.
- Moving parts/modules/engines around the facility and between Wellheads and Kirkhill.
- Minor maintenance work.
- Any other activity identified by the Workshop Supervisor.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a workshop environment would be an advantage.

RB211 NDT/CLEAN LINE OPERATOR
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group RB211 Department for a NDT / Clean Line Operator. The successful candidate will be based at Kirkhill, Dyce and will report directly to the Clean Line Chargehand. The primary function will be to carry out wash and NDT of Aero derivative Gas Turbine components.
Job Description:
- To carry out Wash and NDT (FPI) Operations as required, and deliver material to Inspection along with NDT Report.
- To ensure correct procedures for documentation control are followed at all times.
- To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times
- To oversee and promote Health, Safety & Environment issues within the workshop.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Clean line or NDT experience/qualification would be preferable, however, training will be provided.

DOCUMENT CONTROL ASSISTANT (MATERNITY COVER)
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group OIG Department for a Document Control Assistant. The successful candidate will be based at Wellheads Industrial Centre, Dyce and will report directly to the QHSE manager within the Operations Integrity Group. The primary role is to provide documentation control service, issue regular updates to manuals and control of the combined form process throughout the company and to Rolls-Royce. This is a part time temporary position (20 hours per week).
Job Description:
- Collate information from various sources, “pull together” and implement into the RWG document system.
- Ensure control is maintained of all RWG combined forms while going through the approval process loops.
- Update Company forms as required.
- Access Energy Manager website, download and distribute updates as required.
- Provide guidance to personnel to allow them to find data within the RWG and RR document control system.
- Ensure that technical manual updates are issued in a timely manner.
- Update Company intranet for the QHSE sections.
- Update RWG technical drawing database.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of RWG document control procedures.
- Computing skills and experience in MS Word, Excel and Access.
- No formal qualifications required.

AVON PRODUCTION CHARGEHAND
A vacancy has arisen within the Rolls Wood Group Avon Project for a Production Charge hand. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of work allocation within the Avon Production Department.
Job Description:
- Manages production priorities in order to meet predetermined schedules. Recommends overtime requirements to meet project time scales.
- Interpret/identify work priorities and delegates work activities in a fair and consistent way.
- Carry out Engine Fitting duties. To ensure correct procedures and documentation are used at all times.
- Ensures product quality through effective training and competency assessment of workshop personnel.
- To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times.
- To ensure all tooling and lifting equipment is maintained in good working order, and any deficiencies reported to a supervisor for action.
Experience and Qualifications:
Time served Engineer.Recognised apprenticeship/National Certificate or SVQ.Strong technical knowledge of productExperience of people management in a technical/workshop environment.
Good communication skills - verbal and written.
Firm knowledge of HS&E procedures Risk and COSHH assessments.
